ABOUT

Michelle Goldman began working with clay in 2023 when she, her husband and her two young boys set out on a nomadic journey across the US and Canada. During that time she learned to throw, alter and build with clay from seasoned ceramic makers at seven different studios. Along the way, she developed a deep connection to clay, shaping her vision for functional and expressive pottery.

What began as a new creative adventure became something much deeper. Michelle fell in love with the quiet, tactile process of working with her hands—the rhythm of the wheel, the unpredictability of the kiln, and the way a simple lump of clay could become something both useful and meaningful.

Now settled in San Francisco, Michelle creates small-batch ceramics inspired by nostalgia, everyday rituals, and the beauty found in objects made by hand. Her collection includes vintage-inspired ceramics and hand-built chain vessels, each made with intention and a little room for the unexpected.

Michelle embraces the imperfect parts of handmade pieces—the subtle variations, gentle marks, and small quirks that make each object one of a kind. To her, these details are not flaws to be corrected, but reminders of the hands and process behind the piece.

Her hope is to create objects that feel personal and lived-in, bringing a little beauty, warmth, and intention to the everyday.
